2009 "Sponsor a Family" Goal:

To provide all families who are new to the diagnosis of autism with a Family Information and Resource Packet containing:

• Navigating Autism Services: A Community Guide for Missouri This guide gives families a road map to Missouri services, so they will know where to start in exploring the service system and who to call with questions.

• The MO-FEAT Statewide Resource Directory . This Directory helps families know who to call when they need answers or services. The directory provides names and contacts of family-referred resources and providers organized by topic and region of the state.

• Information on the state's Autism Projects, ways to connect with other families for support, essential no-cost Missouri resources, and in-depth tips on where to begin after a diagnosis of autism is made.

We are planning to distribute the reading materials that are mentioned in the new Navigation Guide to lending libraries across the state, so families will be able to easily access additional information on autism-related topics. There are approximately nine libraries across the state that lend books specific to autism, and we hope to provide for each of them all as donations allow.


	Sponsor a Famiy Campaign MO-FEAT is thrilled to announce the first annual *Heart of MO-FEAT Family Sponsorship Award* . This award will be given to the person whose sponsors the most families through fundraising during the 2009 Sponsor a Family campaign running now through June 3rd. You can become a Friend of MO-FEAT by sponsoring 2 families by donating $10. We will publicly recognize Friends who help Sponsor a Family at these levels: • Guide $11-$50 to sponsor up to 10 families • Navigator $51-$75 to sponsor up to 15 families • Mentor $100 and above to sponsor 20 or more families How can you touch the life of a family? When families receive a diagnosis of autism, they often feel overwhelmed and confused about how to begin the process of finding help for their child. MO-FEAT wants to put an end to this problem and help families start their journey with resources and information in their hands and a feeling of being surrounded by support from other families and friends. We need your help to reach the thousands of Missouri families who have just received an autism diagnosis this year, or will receive one next year. You can help us by reaching out to others and encouraging them to sponsor as many families as possible to receive MO-FEAT Family Packets this year. This packet includes the NEW Navigation Guide, the MO-FEAT Resource Directory and other resources this year. By becoming a sponsor, you put immediate answers and hope directly into the hands of families. How can you participate? Social network sites are a fantastic way to let your family and friends know that they can help in the Sponsor a Family campaign. Ask people to get involved in our cause and feel assured that the funds are used to put publications right into the hands of Missouri families. Here are some ideas for you. • Become a Friend of MO-FEAT through Firstgiving! Visit the MO-FEAT Firstgiving page at www.firstgiving.com/mofeat and click on “I want to raise money too” to set up your own page. It's simple and easy. Send your link to family and friends and invite them to Sponsor a Family through your Firstgiving page. Donors will receive a letter of receipt from Firstgiving indicating that donations are tax-deductible. • Join our Cause on Facebook. Ask your friends and family to join our cause. If a Facebook friend donates to your cause, don't forget to let us know by emailing us at info@mofeat.org!
